Brantley Anyone out there  in the Northeast Tennessee, Southwest Virginia or Western North Carolina area who needs something fun to do on Friday night Oct. 29? I’ve got something for you!

Brantley Gilbert will be on stage at Capone’s in Johnson City, beginning at 8 p.m.

A lot of you may remember when I did a review of Brantley’s first CD, “A Modern Day Prodigal Son,” back in October, 2009. Back in March I got to listen to, and review, his second album, Halfway to Heaven. If you go back and check both of these reviews, you’ll see that Brantley is a very diversified entertainer.

The songs are different the albums are different, but be sure to read to the end of the reviews … and you’ll find out I like him. Even though there were a few songs on the second album that aren’t my favorites, I still see a bright future for this kid. Listen to “My Kind of Crazy,” love that one.

brantleygildbert In addition to his MySpace page, I hope you will all visit Brantley’s web site to hear more of his music, and find out more about this artist. I think you guys are going to like Brantley.

Now, back to Capone’s. Unfortunately I will be out of town and not able to get to the event, but I hope a lot of you get there, and I hope you send me some pictures so we can get them posted for everyone here.

In case anyone is not familiar with Capone’s it is located at 227 E. Main St., in Johnson City. This is an 18 and over event, and the cost is $15, payable at the door.

If any of you get there, tell Brantley that I said “Hi” …and make sure you grab a few pictures that I can get up here.

That’s it for now. More later! Write when you get a few minutes!
