Brett I heard a song recently, I think it was just called “Raymond.” The artist is newcomer, Brett Eldredge. The song talks about something that a lot of people have lived with, and a lot are  continuing to live with… Alzheimer’s. More than the disease though, the song focuses on the people who take care of people with Alzheimer’s.

This song is about a young man who works in a nursing home. We don’t know what his real name is, but one of the lades he takes care of is an elderly woman with Alzheimer’s, who thinks he is her son… she calls him Raymond.

Brett 1 I love the video. It’s sweet, and caring, and might I add – very well sung by Brett Eldredge. You can watch the video on YouTube, by clicking here. I watched the video, and I thought that maybe it’s better that this woman can’t really remember what happened. And it’s good that she thinks the nursing home employee is her son, Raymond. Because she doesn’t remember that her son died in Vietnam.

Kind of sad, but at the same time, very touching. And easy to watch and listen to.

In addition to “Raymond” being picked up by a lot of radio stations, Brett has also been named CMT’s “Next Best Thing.”  You can check out his web site, and also find him him on MySpace, and follow him on Twitter. He’s got a facebook page, too.

Already told you that you can go to YouTube and see the video, but if you just want to have a listen, and follow along with these great lyrics, you can do that by watching the video below.

Keep your eye on Brett Eldredge. This is a great first single, and a singer who I am sure we’ll be hearing a lot from.

It is Saturday, and I’m going to go look at the beautiful leaves! Heading north for a drive through Virginia. You guys have a great Saturday!

More later!
