Jeanne6 I hate it when there are concerts too far away for me to attend. But I love it when I have a reader from that area who gets to go to the show, and is kind enough to send me a review, with pictures, and even a few videos. So here you go … George Strait with Reba McEntire and special guest Lee Ann Womack October 15, 2010, Wells Fargo Center, Philadelphia.  The following photos, and the article below, are all by Girl4Reba/Jeanne

Jeanne3 I was very excited to see this tour again.  I had seen it opening night in Baltimore – January 22.  And, I’m glad I saw it a second time, as Reba changes it all up a bit since the January show 🙂

I was, by the grace of the good Lord able to get a 3rd row floor seat, right next to the artist entrance of the stage.

This is a true country concert.  Real country music at its best.

Jeanne2 Lee Ann Womack is outstanding. She reminds us, we’re going to hear real country music tonight and that we do.  All too soon her 30 minute set is over!  She is a little bitty thing but that voice is like black gold, Texas tea!  One of my fondest memories is her saying before, I hope you dance — "as we say in Nashville, this is the one that got me in the Opry!"  I had the good luck of being given a meet and greet after her set.  It was an honor to meet Lee Ann!

I get pretty wound up when Reba hits the stage, with I can’t even get the blues, she’s been my Idol / girl for so long.  She’s born to be on stage!  Honestly I was blessed to be this close and I know that — you just can’t imagine how connected she is to her audience!  She looks you/everyone in the eyes and really truly appreciates us all.  This stage is set up as in the round, 4 corners if you will.  Reba doesn’t just move from corner to corner, she dances her way around the entire night!  Her voice is always strong and her delivery impeccable.

Jeanne10 One of the highlights for me; of this tour, is Reba’s encore.  After her new single, Turn on the radio, she leaves the stage.  Soon enough a yellow taxi cab, much like the one used in the video (Fancy) pulls back up to the artist entrance and out she comes in that red dancing dress & up onto the stage to perform Fancy.  The crowd goes insane!

Unfortunately – we didn’t get Melissa Peterman this show as a surprise walk on, during I’m a survivor.  I did, opening night in Baltimore, and I missed "Barbara Jean"

jeanne5 However we did get Kelly Clarkson!   Whoa Nelly!  That girl sure can sang!! ;)  Reba fans adore Kelly!   I had heard she was at the Pittsburgh show the night before and sang one song.  We got 3.  Because of you, walk away, and why haven’t I heard from you!   The entire arena stood for the 3 song set!

George sang a full two hours, not the 90 minutes as reported by a local Philadelphia paper.  He really is the King.  What talent and what a delivery.  He looks and sounds great.   I had such amazing seats and this is a night I’ll not soon forget!

And one last thing, a video from the Oct. 15 Show.

Thanks so much Girl4Reba/Jeanne, for the great write up, pictures and video.

I guess that will do it for this morning. I hope you will all remember, that when you get to a concert I didn’t get to (and that would be a lot of them), please take a few extra pictures to send on to me. I’d love to get them posted for you to share with all my readers.

More later!
