Yesterday, I went to Greeneville, Tenn., to see The Band Perry. The weather was perfect, and the kids were so nice, and very appreciative of everyone who came out to see them. It was a huge crowd. I haven’t heard the estimates yet, but I’m sure there were several thousand people at the outdoor event. I first saw this band in August at our Fair in Gray, Tenn. You can see that article and photos here.
Following a few speeches, Alan Broyles, Greene County Mayor, read a proclamation. On behalf of the City of Greeneville, and Greene County, Tenn., the week beginning Sunday, Oct. 10, 2010, was proclaimed to be The Band Perry Week. How cool is that. Greeneville City Mayor, W.T. Daniels also had a part in the proclamation.
The band will be making 11 more stops, all across the country, promoting their new CD. Are you anywhere near Minneapolis? Annapolis, Md.? Woodbridge, Va.? Boston? Warwick, R.I.? or Taylor Mich.? Those are a few of the cities where they will be between now and Saturday, Oct. 23. Just click here to find out where they are going to be next.
There is never enough room in one of my posts to say all the great things I could say about Kimberly, Reid and Neil. They are not only talented singers, musicians and songwriters, but they are also very nice, so polite, and a real joy to get to be around. If you’ve never been to a show where everyone in that audience leaves with a smile on their face, then you have never been to a show with The Band Perry on stage.
Here are a few more pictures for you all. It was a fun day. I’m sure everyone who went had a great time. I for one appreciate local artists, who don’t mind coming back home to let us know they still remember who we are, and that they haven’t gotten too big to remember the folks back in their home town. Good job, Kimberly, Neil and Reid!
Now, a few pictures from yesterday.
There you go. A great day, with a great band… both on stage, and off.
I’ll talk to you guys real soon. Have a nice Monday! Write when you have a chance, I love hearing form you all.
