Raintown AlbumI would like to be able to start this post out by saying, “I’m sure all of you are familiar with Raintown.” But, I know that isn’t the case. At least not yet. I’m going to give you a little introduction of this duo now, and hope you will visit their MySpace page and their web site to listen to some of their music, and learn more about them for yourself.

On their MySpace, you can listen to some of their music. They have clips up for “Hero”, “Light the Fuse Up”, “Just One Kiss”, “Hope to Troubled Times,” “What Matters Most”, and my favorite, “Picture of Us.”

I like all the songs, but “Picture of Us,” is my absolute favorite, and is also their next single Yesterday I received an MP3 of the entire song, and it’s really awesome. I know we have a lot of male/female duos out there right now. I’m a huge fan of Steel Magnolia, Thompson Square and Joey + Rory. but you know what? I definitely think we have room for Raintown – and I hope all of you agree.

Raintown_Promotional_Photograph_2[1]Their first single, “Just One Kiss,” went to No. 12 on the European Chart, and will all the way to No. 2 in the UK and Ireland. The song is available on iTunes, Tesco-Digital, Napster and Spotify.

Here’s a little information from their bio. The first paragraph pretty much tells you about their sound. Paul Bain and Claire McArthur make up the duo, Raintown. They are from Glasgow, Scotland. Their bio describes their sound like this: “Fusing the infectious elements of great pop songs with the roots based instrumentation and a conversational writing style of Contemporary American Country music, Raintown, Paul Bain and Claire McArthur, are a contemporary twist on a modern country duo. Continuing the tradition of exciting new music to emerge from Glasgow, their catchy hooks and dynamic male/female harmonies are delivered with a passion and style that demands attention, while their carefully crafted lyrics articulate some very human emotions in a sincere, ‘heart on the sleeve’ kind of way.”

Raintown_Promo[1]They were in Nashville during CMA Awards Week, and had an opportunity to perform at the International Party.

While this won’t mean a lot to many of us here in the states, it will show you how busy these two have been. Here are the stops they made on a recent radio tour through the UK and Ireland:  Clyde1/Clyde2/MFR/BBC Radio Scotland ; Heartland FM, Alive Radio, Leith FM, L107, ON Fm London, Pulse FØM; AV Radio – Artist Spotlight; Country Cafe – CMR Nashville – Artist Spotlight ; UK Country Radio – Artist Spotlight (Leeds); CMR Nashville – Hot Disc Artist of the Month (Farnboroug);  Maverick Magazine – Interview – Spotlight/Feature; and, Cumbernauld News, Evening Times, Kirkintilloch Herald, Fife Advertiser.

I hope you will visit their MySpace, and their web site. Read about the, check out the photos, and listen to their music. Let me know what you think. I’ll do my best to keep you up-to-date with all the news about their career.

Time to get ready for work. Hope you all have a good Monday! Talk to you soon!
