SS7Whenever I start hearing about a movie I’d like to see – I make sure I get it written down somewhere. Since I just saw “Country Strong” last week, I can cross that one off my list.  It never takes long to get a new one written down to take the place of something I just saw. “Soul Surfer” is one I probably wouldn’t have had to write down though – I’ve been waiting for this one since I first heard about it was in production.

SS6Country bloggers have been writing about this one for a long time. It’s the true story of Bethany Hamilton, a champion surfer who lost her arm in a shark attack. The story is certainly going to be an inspiring one. I’m sure it will be happy, sad, exciting, fun to watch, very emotional, but mostly – it will be inspirational. And, it’s got Carrie Underwood in her first big screen role.

SS3You can watch a great trailer for the film at Inside Movies, by clicking here.

The movie is scheduled to release on April 8, 2011. Here is the cast:  AnnaSophia Robb as Bethany Hamilton; Dennis Quaid as Tom Hamilton; Helen Hunt as Cheri Hamilton; Carrie Underwood as Sarah Hill; Jeremy Sumpter as Byron Blanchard; Ross Thomas as Noah Hamilton; Lorraine Nicholson as Alana Blanchard; and Kevin Sorbo as Holt Blanchard.

The movie is, of course, based on the book Soul Surfer, written by Bethany Hamilton. It is an autobiography about her life as a surfer. I plan on reading the book before I go to see the movie. I read one book review, which said (in part): Over all this was a good book. I liked how it was written by her self because she can put her real feelings in it and she tells about the experience. Also I liked that it was a true story because you can get the picture about her accident more. [Source]

That’s it for now – Happy Monday everyone. Hope you have a great week! I’ll talk to you all soon!
