CC CD
If the rest of you are anything like me, you have been anxiously awaiting the release of Craig Campbell’s debut album. You won’t have to wait much longer! The CD will be released on April 5, 2011, and as you might expect – it does include Craig’s hit song, “Family Man.” I had an opportunity to listen to the CD last night. Today, I want to tell you about it – and give you a chance to win an autographed copy of the new CD, along with a Craig Campbell keychain!

Craig had a hand in writing all but two of the 11 songs on the new album. And I love every one of them. I often listen to an artist’s debut album and think, “I’d like to pick this guy’s next single”. I listened to this CD, and thought “any one of these songs could be this guy’s next single.” Craig’s fans are going to love this CD! In fact, I’d go even farther and say that if there’s anyone out there who is not already a big Craig Campbell fan, they will be after they listen to this.

Craig CampbellThe 11 songs you’ll here from Craig are: “I Bought It,” “Family Man,” “When I Get It,” “My Little Cowboy,” “Makes You Wanna Sang,” “That Going Away Look About Her,” “Fish,” “Chillaxin’,” That’s Music to Me,” “You Probably Ain’t",” and “All Night to get There.”

“I Bought It” reminds me a whole lot of “I Let Her Lie (Tracy Lawrence). No matter what she does – ‘he bought it’. And, I like it. I don’t think it’s my favorite song of the album, but they can’t all be a favorite. And, it’s still a good song. “Chillaxin” has a strange name, but it is one of my favorite songs on this album. I just like the sound of the whole thing.  “Fish” is a fun song, faster, and like any good country song, has a little story to tell – this one about a girl who likes to fish.

I’d say my favorite song on this CD is “All Night to get There.” But you know – there’s not a song on this CD that isn’t easy to listen to and very easy to like. His baritone voice, and obvious love for country music  work for him, and help to make this already great album even better.

I’m anxious to see Craig’s show – hopefully sometime soon. Of course I checked out his schedule on his web site, and hope all of you will check out where he’s going to be, because I know you’re going to want to catch this guy when he get anywhere near your area. Check his show schedule. You won’t want to miss him!

That’s going to do it for this morning. I think winter has returned to northeast Tennessee. No snow, but it’s been cold and rainy, and it just makes you want to stay inside. But, I’ve got to get ready to head to the office. Have a great day!

Talk to you soon!
