City of Hope benefit 057

Whitney Duncan, who is a beautiful, talented, singer/songwriter – showed everyone on Tuesday night, March 1, that she is also a very good hostess. Whitney took the microphone at CMIL’s 2nd annual benefit concert for City of Hope, and brought many great country artists to the stage. The evening could not have been complete if Whitney had only hosted. But never fear. In addition to her hosting duties, she was ready, with guitar in hand, to entertain the crowd.

City of Hope benefit 096The folks at Country Music is Love, did a great job again this year. This was their second annual event for City of Hope. While all the numbers aren’t in yet, judging from the crowd at the Hard Rock Café in Nashville Tuesday night, I think everyone is going to be happy with the amount CMIL raised to donate from the show.

City of Hope benefit 147With Whitney Duncan hosting, and a list of scheduled performers that included Chuck Wicks, Josh Thompson, Thompson Square, Brett Eldridge, Troy Olsen, Ty Brown, and Chris Cavanaugh, you might think that was all the show anyone needed. And, you would probably be right. However, those of us at the Hard Rock got even more than that!

Stealing Angels, a great group that I’ve written about a few times before, Jesse Lee, who was part of last year’s benefit show; and Katie Armiger, who recently made the charts with her single “Best Song Ever,” all made a surprise stop at the Hard Rock, and sang for the audience.

If it’s really true that things are best said with pictures – we’ll just let the camera do the rest of the talking for this morning. Here you go …

Thanks so much to Country Music is Love, for organizing this benefit show again this year. Thanks to all the people who came, to show your support to City of Hope. And, thank you so much to the Hard Rock Café, and to all the artists who came to be a part of this event.

That’s all for this morning. I hate heading back to the office after the great day and a half trip to Nashville. But, it’s time to get ready for work. I hope you all enjoy your Thursday. I appreciate the e-mails, and I’ll answer you all real soon!

More later,
