Jason Sturgeon Capone's 017Over the past 40 years, I’ve met a lot of country music artists. It’s always a pleasure to meet them. They are talented people, who work very hard at their craft. They travel, they perform, they rehearse, and still they make the time to say ‘hello’ to a fan standing in the wings with a camera and autograph book.. They deserve every bit of respect and admiration I have for them. But, I guess I just always figured that people in the entertainment world all know each other – again, we discover that isn’t true.

Toolpusher recording artist Jason Sturgeon attended an event for one of his favorite Indiana home-state resorts, The French Lick Casino and Resort, where he had the opportunity to meet the legendary Kenny Rogers.  Rogers is one of Sturgeon’s musical heroes!

Jason S and Kenny Rogers

"I have always been a big fan of Kenny Rogers! I had the opportunity to see him live a couple of times when I was younger and let me tell you, I spent the whole show with a cheesy grin on my face. Such an influential artist with so many hits and such a great performer!! It was a dream come true to finally meet him," says Sturgeon.

Sturgeon’s next single. "The Cover," from his CD titled THAT’S ME, will release to country radio soon. A music video for the song is also currently in the works.

I wrote about Jason Sturgeon a while back, when I had the opportunity to meet him before a show in Johnson City. He, and his band, went out of their way to accommodate by requests for pictures, and to sit down and share details about what’s going on with their country music career. If you’d like to read that article, and see the pictures from that evening, just click here. (Please keep in mind that the contest mentioned in that article is now over.)

I have to get ready to head to the office. I hope you all enjoy your Friday, and have . Talk to you soon!
