I am hurrying a little this morning. I have to get to the office, but I could not leave without telling you just a little bit about Alan Jackson’s concert last night in Rogersville, Tenn. It was a fundraiser for the Hawkins County Relay For Life for the American Cancer Society. And from the title of this post, you can be certain there is going to be a Part 2.
Thank you, Alan, for giving so much of your time to the folks in your audience! Thank you for saying ‘yes’ to Charlie Chase when he invited you to his home town to do this benefit. Thank you for caring so much about your fans that you took the time to do an entire (2 hour) show; sign autographs from the stage; and throw out more guitar picks than I have ever seen anyone toss into a crowd! (By the way, I got one.) You helped raise so much money for the American Cancer Society. Money that will help with research and patient services. I’m a long-time supporter of the ACS, and so much can be done, especially when wonderful people like you step up to help the volunteers.
There are a lot of pictures to share with all of you. I hope to get those up tomorrow. But this will have to do it for this morning. I really have to get to the office! It is Friday – hope you all have a good one!
