I’ve been following Mark Cooke for a while now, since meeting him on Twitter, checking out his web site, and of course visiting his facebook page. I like Mark’s music, and had every intention of getting something up about him long before now. But of course, there’s a reason for what they say about good intentions. Since I’m suffering with a serious bout of pneumonia right now, and don’t have a lot of energy, you can imagine how happy I was to get this press release today, letting me know Mark has a new single, from his upcoming debut album. In addition to hearing the new single on Mark’s web site, you can also find it on his YouTube channel, by clicking here. I love that the Internet has made it easy for us to find out about new artists, even the ones who are playing shows mostly in Texas or other areas far away from us right now.
Country newcomer and Texas native Mark Cooke has just released his new single “I Love It” from his forthcoming self-titled debut album. Written by Philip Douglas, Ron Harbin and Jimmy Yeary and produced by Nashville veterans J.Gary Smith and John Smith of CVR, “I Love It” is already garnering attention from country radio.
“HOT, HOT, HOT. A great summertime, driving-to-the-beach-with-your-favorite-girl song,” claims Jerry Proctor/WTYS. “Mark hit it again with this one. I LOVE IT."
"Mark Cooke is country personified!” says Kelly Green/WEIO. “We loved "Can’t Cheat In A Small Town" and now he’s back with ‘I Love It.’ He’s got the look, the sound and WE LOVE IT!"
“An instant hit on the phones! Listeners are loving ‘I Love It’ and so am I!” states Mike Thomas/KFAV.
Mark’s debut single, “Can’t Cheat in a Small Town,” climbed the country charts reaching Billboard’s Indicator New and Active chart. Mark has been hard at work putting the finishing touches on his upcoming album due out later this year and is busy with a new radio tour visiting country stations throughout the U.S. He’s been featured in several outlets such as The9513.com, AOL’s The Boot, Roughstock.com and as IHeartRadio.com’s Artist to Watch. He was also featured on a cover of BSCENE Magazine, an upcoming episode of Young Country, and many more.
Born and raised in East Texas, Mark Cooke is an accomplished singer/songwriter who is no stranger to country music. He has always been a lover of music from a very young child to chasing the dream today in Music City, U.S.A. Mark recently has been signed to Cotton Valley Records and Management run by Music Row veteran producers J. Gary Smith and John Smith. Together they are currently recording his CVR debut album due out this spring. His current single, “I Love It,” is going for radio adds now.
I hope you will all visit Mark’s web site, facebook, and YouTube, and follow him on Twitter. When I get better, I am definitely going to get up a better article, and let you all know what I think of this guy’s music. I really hope it won’t be long before the shows on his tour schedule start showing towns a little farther away from Texas, and a little closer to where I live.
That’s it for this morning. I’m out of bed long enough to do a little article, and now, I’m going back to sleep. Terrible when I finally get to take a week off work, and it’s because I’m just too sick to go to the office.
Hope you all enjoy your Wednesday – hey, email would cheer me up. Drop me a little note when you have a chance. I always look forward to hearing from all of you.
