Back on Jan. 20, 2010, I had the opportunity to meet with Jason Sturgeon when he was in Johnson City for a show at Capone’s. He and his band took time to tell me about where they’re heading, what they’ve been doing, and answer any questions I had for them. He even gave me five autographed CDs which I gave away to lucky readers as contest prizes! I enjoyed meeting them, and I’m looking forward to seeing them again soon. If you missed that article, loaded with pictures, you can see it here.
Unfortunately, I missed the show they did on Friday, April 1. They were back at Capone’s in Johnson City, opening up for Matt Stillwell. Sadly, it was a night when I had to be somewhere else.
Bill Hagy, program director at WXBQ radio did get to spend a little time with Jason on his last trip to this area, when the Toolpusher recording artist stopped in at the Bristol, Va., studio for a visit. Jason’s show at Capone’s was just one of many stops on his 2011 Rollin’ On Tour. You have all heard me talk a lot about WXBQ radio. It is, without a doubt, the best country radio station anywhere. And it’s definitely the place artists stop to visit when they are anywhere in northeast Tennessee or Southwest Virginia. Steel Magnolia, Bucky Covington, Carrie Underwood, The Band Perry and Taylor Swift are among artists who have stopped in recently.
Upcoming dates of the tour include: Winston Salem, NC, Charlotte, NC, Asheville, NC, Albany, GA, Indianapolis, IN, Lynchburg, VA, Bloomington, IN, Sanford, FL and more!
I have got to start my Tuesday. Hope you all have a great day. Tonight I’m going to work on catching up my email, I owe a lot of you a note! Talk to you all soon!
