Nick Nicholson show in West Virginia, and a look back at his New Year’s Eve with Toby Keith
I hardly know where to start with this post. If you’ve been reading Country’s Chatter over the past few years, you know how I feel about Nick Nicholson. The first time I wrote about him was in March, 2008. And it was the first of many times. He is super talented, and I absolutely love to watch him work! His music is fantastic, and in my opinion, he is one of country music’s best kept secrets. It’s time to let that secret out! (If you missed previous articles I did about Nick, check out this one.)
In addition to Nick, you all know how much I love Toby Keith. So today, I’m going to tell you about Nick’s show in Vienna, W.Va., this past Saturday night – and I really can’t do that without also mentioning his show on New Year’s Eve at Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar and Grill in Mesa, Ariz., where Nick was joined on stage by Toby himself! (One quick note about Toby – he’s nominated for a CMT Video Award for Bullets in the Gun, and will do the world premiere performance of his new song, “Made in America” on the CMT Awards show tonight at 8 p.m. (ET).
Now that we got this far, I’m right back to where I was before I started. “I hardly know where to start with this post.” With songs like “Somethin’, Somethin’’,” and “Stronger Than Whiskey” already finding some air time on radio stations across the country, people are starting to hear about Nick. I hope you will visit his web site, and listen to some of his music. One of my favorite songs is “Your Love Don’t Move Mountains.” But I feel the same way about most of Nick’s songs. Actually, he’s one of those singers that has never done anything I don’t like. Let me know what you think!
Nick often does shows at Toby Keith’s I Love this Bar in Mesa, Ariz., and he’s also opened for the Bellamy brothers at the famous Museum Club in Flagstaff, Ariz., performed at Harrah’s in Nevada, sang at Peoria Festival of the Arts, did pre-show performances at a Phoenix Suns game, was part of Country Thunder in Florence, Ariz., and will be opening for John Michael Montgomery on June 24, at Fort Tuthill USAF Recreation Area, Ariz. The list goes one an on. From personal appearances, shows, radio and television appearances – he’s an amazing artist. To say I was a huge fan would be an understatement.
I’m going to close here, and just share a few more pictures with you all – both from the show at Fishbone Gill and Grill in Vienna, W.Va., last Saturday, and the New Year’s Eve show at Toby’s place in Mesa. And probably even include a photo or two of Nick with some fans. This was Nick’s second show at the Fishbone. For article and photos from show last year, click here.
That’s all for this morning. I would really like to know what you all think about Nick. Have you heard his music on the radio in your area? Have you had the good fortune of seeing him perform live? Do you think he needs to be on a major label in Nashville? Obviously, I just can’t find enough great things to say about this man. Hope you all agree with me!
Thanks again to WNUS US 107 for bringing Nick back to Vienna, W.Va., for this great how.
I’ll talk to you all soon!
