Saturday night was the end of Fun Fest for 2011. The annual event in Kingsport, Tenn., is one of the areas best events. And they have great concerts every year. This year it was Kellie Pickler, who I told you all about yesterday, and today, I’ll tell you about the second headliner for the 2011 event – Trace Adkins.
As you might expect, most of what we heard was ‘newer’ Trace music – “Chrome,” “Fishin’,” “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk,” and a lot more. All good Trace songs, that the crowd really enjoyed. I was glad to hear him sing “Every Light in the House,” but would have also enjoyed hearing “This Ain’t No Thinkin’ Thing,” “Give Me You,” “I Left Something Turned On At Home,” and “I Wish It Was You.” But, with somewhere around 150 songs to his credit, I know there is no way we could hear them all at one show.
While Trace was singing, they were showing his videos behind him on a huge, and very distracting screen. I went to see Trace. And to hear Trace sing. I didn’t want to watch videos. That’s just my opinion, of course, there were others that seemed to like having the videos up there. But when you are as good as Trace Adkins is at working a stage, and singing to your audience, it really isn’t necessary to have anything else going on in the background. Trace, the band, and the creative lighting would have been more than enough.. Well, more than enough for me – but like I said, some there thought the videos were a nice touch.
The show was great, and to anyone who has not seen Trace Adkins in concert – I say “GO!” You are not going to be disappointed. Here are more pictures from Saturday night’s show.
Need to get ready for work. Have a good Tuesday everyone. I’ll talk to you guys soon. Thanks for all of your e-mail! Love hearing from you.
