Last night I went to the Washington County Fair in Abingdon, Va. There were going to be two acts on stage. Two acts I had seen before, and really enjoyed before, so I knew there was nothing keeping me away from the fairgrounds with these artists scheduled to perform. The groups were The McClymonts, and LoCash Cowboys.
The first band was the McClymonts. I had seen the girls in July at Fun Fest in Kingsport, Tenn. I enjoyed their show, but didn’t write much about them. During the two nights of major country acts at Fun Fest, there were three opening acts. When I put the article up about them, I combined the three opening acts into one article, and I don’t believe I gave Brook, Sam and Mollie the amount of space they deserve.
The three sisters are from Australia. The bio on their web site is very impressive. The show was really good. I liked everything I heard, and enjoyed watching them on stage. The girls are very talented with great harmony and instrumental talent. Their latest single, Wrapped up Good, is also the title of their album. They have a video for it on their web site. I’m really surprised that I haven’t heard this group on our local country radio station. Especially since they’ve made two appearances in this area during the past few months.
When you visit their web site, be sure to click on the “Videos” tab, and listen to some of their music. I’ve already got a whole list of favorites, including Kick It Up, Finally Over Blue, and Something that My Heart Does.
Of course the show included our famous WXBQ Rabbit, who never misses an opportunity to pose with his ‘fans’ – especially the pretty young ladies. DeeJay Reggie Neel was also there to introduce the acts and spend time with fair-goers.
Here are a few more pictures from last night’s show.
Thanks so much to the staff at the Washington County Fair, to WXBQ Radio, and to the McClymonts for making last night a very memorable time for everyone! I’m looking forward to more from these ladies soon.
Talk to you all later!
