Jake Owen’s “Barefoot Blue Jean Night” gives Jake his first No. 1
Jake Owen is one of my favorite country artists. I’ve had the pleasure of seeing him in concert several times, and talking to him either before or after each performance. He’s always friendly, out-going, and seems anxious to spend a little time with the fans who came see him perform.
Hard for me to believe that Jake has never had a number one record – until now. Congratulations, Jake, on “Barefoot Blue Jean Night” making it to No. 1 on the Media Base Charts. “Don’t Think I Can’t Love You” did make it to No. 2, and while that will probably always be my favorite Jake song, I do have a favorite line from ‘barefoot’ …. “We were shining like lighters in the dark in the middle of a rock show.” No, I have no idea why, but I love that line! But in many songs there’s one line that stays with me.
I’ve had a very busy weekend – the Labor Day holiday was nice, but driving home in a serious rain storm last night wasn’t. This morning, it’s back to the office! So I’ll talk to you all soon! Hope your holiday was nice, too!
