If Brad Paisley didn’t already have an album titled “This is Country Music,” I would give that title to one of my newest Twitter followers, Jon Mark Luckett. That Twitter ‘follow’ led me to his music on ReverbNation.
Jon has six songs there. I listened to each of them, more than once. And I liked every one of them. The songs are “40 Miles to Nashville,” “Time for Me to Fly,” “Listen to the Rain,” “Wayfaring Stranger,” “Oh Why Not Tonight,” and “You Are God.” I don’t have a favorite. I liked every one of the songs I heard.
The songs are good. The songs are what I would expect to hear on country radio. I listen to a lot of music on ReverbNation. I listen to a lot of CDs people send me to review. And, I meet a lot of people on Twitter and facebook who think their music is special. If I agree, you read about it here. And in the case of Jon Mark Luckett, I definitely agree.
I don’t know anything about this guy, except that he is from Tunnel Hill, Ga., and from the signature at the end of his introduction (bio) on ReverbNation, I think he prefers to be called ‘Mark’. So – here’s his introduction, in his own words:
I sing, play guitar, bass and other stringed instruments, piano/keys & drums.
Long time musician, emerging songwriter, self-taught producer. I’ve had an interesting life so far.
I’ve been a: promising young musician, foolish & wasting kid, struggling wanderer, ambitious & driven family man, successful corporate puppet, broken hearted statistic, and a lost dreamer.
The road has stubbornly led me back to what I naturally do. Play and sing.
I’ve been a Pro Tools user since 2003 and still maintain a studio at my home. All the tracks you’ll find on this site were self-recorded there.
I’m 6’8" tall. So, while my stuff is just getting around here, I’m already HUGE in Asia.
Thanks to my friends who continue to support and encourage me. I appreciate each and every one of you. All the best! Mark
He calls himself a musician, emerging songwriter, and producer. I think we’re going to be hearing a lot about him, in any one of those areas.
I need to get ready to head to the office. I will talk to you guys soon! Have a great Thursday!
