I was already planning on staying up late on Monday night – so I could watch the Eli Young Band at the end of Jay Leno’s show. He always puts his musical acts on at the end. I love this group. Have always been a huge fan, and think Mike Eli has the most unique voice in country music. I was so happy to see them get their first No. 1 single with “Crazy Girl,” but if it were up to me, they would have had one a long time ago, with one of my favorite EYB songs, “When It Rains.” The show starts at 11:30 p.m. (ET) on NBC.
Their new album, Life at Best, is nothing but fantastic from start to finish. If you missed the review I did on that album, back in August. You can read it by clicking here.
I recently learned that when Eli Young Band finishes on Leno, we can then switch over to CBS, and catch Randy Houser on The Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson. That show airs at 12:35 (ET). Randy will be singing “Whistlin’ Dixie” on the show. Howie Mandel is also one of the scheduled guests for Monday night.
Newly aligned with Nashville record label Stoney Creek Records, country wailer Randy Houser is poised for a third album release later this year. Randy’s first two albums, “Anything Goes,” and “They Call Me Cadillac,” were released in 2008 and 2010 respectively.I have been a huge fan ever since I heard the first note of “Anything Goes.” Randy was nominated for Top New Solo Artist of the Year at the ACM awards in 2011, an award he is definitely worthy of. He has a powerful voice, and is definitely a great vocalist.
Those of you who don’t want to stay up with me on Monday night will definitely want to have your DVR ready to go from 11:30 pm to 1:30 p.m. (ET) to be sure you don’t miss even a second of these performances.
Hope you all enjoy the rest of your Sunday!
