Kelly Clarkson will be opening the Super Bowl on Sunday, Feb. 5, 2012, by singing the national anthem. But before she steps behind the microphone, we’ll all get to hear Blake Shelton and his wife, Miranda Lambert, singing America the Beautiful. Madonna will be the main attraction for the halftime show. The 53 year old singer has teamed with Cirque du Soleil, for what I am sure will be a very entertaining, well choreographed show.
Miranda will also be making her acting debut on an episode of Law and Order: Special Victims Unit. I watch music videos very closely. For they most part, that really is like acting. They are telling their story, both with music and the presentation. Pay close attention to Miranda in both “Kerosene” and “House That Built Me,” and you will have no doubt that she can act.
In the Law & Order show, she will play an actress who says she was sexually assaulted by a television producer, played by Michael McKean. You might remember him from Laverne and Shirley. I think Michael played Lenny, the taller of the ‘Lenny and Squiggy’ pair. Anyway, in addition to Lambert and McKean, this episode will also guest star Harry Connick, Jr., who is supposed to be playing Mariska Hagitay’s love interest on the show during the 2012 television season.
During January and February, Miranda has a lot of Thursday, Friday, Saturday night shows on her calendar. She will be in Charlotte and Greensboro, N.C., as well as Kentucky, Maryland, Virginia, New Jersey, Florida and Pennsylvania, to name a few. Looks like there are still tickets available for most of these shows, too. So if yo u’re ready for a concert, this will be a good one.
