After Steel Magnolia started canceling shows, back in September 2011 (including two shows I was planning to attend); and then Josh entered rehab and Meghan teamed up with James Otto to finish out her scheduled tour dates with Reba – in January, Big Machine Records dropped the duo from its roster, and it seemed that was all there was going to be for this very talented young couple. But even through all that, I (and many, many people like me) remained a fan of this duo.
But, I am now reading some encouraging reports about the kids. They have recently signed with Rainmaker Management, a Tampa-based management group, and also Nashville’s agency for the Performing Arts. [Source]
Josh and Meghan are nominated for an ACM Award this weekend – for Duo of the Year, and will be entertaining the crowds at a pre-ACM Award event in Las Vegas on Saturday.
If you all missed the article I put up after I watched these kids perform at our Greene County Fair the summer before last, check out what I had to say about them. You can read that article by clicking here. And you know what…. I still feel that way about them. Looking forward to a new label, new music, and more live performances from Steel Magnolia.
