2012 – Lakeside Cinema returns to Winged Deer Park in Johnson City
A lot of you have been checking into Country’s Chatter, almost daily, searching for Lakeside Cinema – well, here you go! WXBQ Radio, who is again sponsoring the event along with The City of Johnson City Parks and Rec Dept., Food City, Coca-Cola and Eastman Credit Union, has announced the movies for this year.
The movies are free, and will be shown each Thursday night in June – just like in past years. And, of course there will be concessions available for anyone who wants something good to eat during the movie. You can bring your own food from with you, if you’d like. So grab your lawn chairs and blankets, and come out every Thursday night in June. Spend a little time visiting our friend the WXBQ Rabbit, and enjoy a great movie! Here’s what you’ll be seeing!
June 7 – Dolphin Tail
June 14 – Happy Feet 2
June 21 – Zookeeper
June 28 – Puss In Boots
These are great family movies, and I hope all of our area residents will come on out to Winged Deer Park in Johnson City, Tenn., every Thursday night in June. You can visit with your favorite radio personalities and the WXBQ Rabbit, and enjoy a great night of free fun. I’ll see you all there!

when does dolphin tell start?
Hi Angelica,
The movie usually starts around 9 p.m., right when it starts to get dark.
But if you want to go over earlier, I always do…there are games for the young kids, concessions (if you’d like to buy dinner); and of course the WXBQ Rabbit and some of the deejays are there, too.

Any movies scheduled for July and August, etc??
Renea, the moviees are only on Thursday nights through the month of June. I’m not sure what area you live, but you can also find some outdoor movies on a big screen (but smaller than the Winged Deer Park Screen); at the Bogart-Bowman Cabin in Unicoi, Tenn. There will be one this Friday, July 13. The movie is “Captain America”. It starts about 9:15. For more information about the movies at the cabin in Unicoi, Call 423-743-7162.
