Jerrod Neimann AF 187Jarrod Neimann is one of my favorite rising stars on the country scene. I’ve seen him in concert a number of times. He’s always puts on a great show, and he always makes time for his fans … both before the show (if time permits), and after the show. And it looks like that part of Jerrod has not changed as his success has grown. He’s getting ready to give us some new music, with his sophomore album set to release on Oct. 10. Below is a press release I received today… Along with a few pictures of Jerrod taken du ring the past few years.

Jerrod Neimann AF 148For Jerrod Niemann, 10 is a magic number. He began performing at the young age of 10, was nominated as the ACM New Artist Of The Year after 10 years of songwriting in the music business, and Monday night, signed autographs for a full 10 hours after his Fan Club Party at the 2012 CMA Festival. Now, the platinum-selling, "Lover, Lover" hit-maker will release his sophomore major label album release, Free The Music, in the 10th month, on October 2 (on Sea Gayle Records/Arista Nashville).

Jerrod Neimann AF 222"Free The Music is an album where I wanted to do just that," says Niemann. "It’s a  project honoring many different layers and colors that have appeared  in the country genre since recorded music began."

Jarrod PromoIt took Niemann a full two years to record Free The Music, but he wanted to record it from a non-traditional standpoint, regardless of time. He used brasswind horns throughout, and had his live band lay down the tracks instead of hiring studio musicians. Moreover, he used a recording technique called The Clasp during the production of each song on the record.

Jerrod Neimann AF 213Once again joining forces with Dave Brainard (Judge Jerrod & The Hung Jury) who co-produced the new album with him in Nashville, Niemann’s unique musical flare is evident on the entire record, especially the song "Real Women Drink Beer," (which is the theme of many of his merch items). Blending two extremes: rockabilly and reggae together, Niemann created a sound that sounds well, very much like country.

Jerrod Neimann AF 208Niemann co-wrote the new album’s first single, "Shinin’ On Me," with friends Lee Brice, Rob Hatch and Lance Miller. He also collaborated with guest vocalist Colbie Caillat on the soulful ballad, "All About You."

Jarrod Brice BusTo kick off the CMA Festival, he performed music from his new album Monday night, June 4, at a Fan Club Party with Lee Brice to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). Nearly 400 fans came out to show their support. Later in the evening Brice and Niemann signed autographs for each and every person who hung around for a whopping 10 hours – making sure to get some one-on-one time with each.

Jerrod Neimann AF 162Long-time fan Drena Knorr was celebrating her birthday that night and said, "I appreciate the fact that they’re taking time to spend with everyone — that’s one of both artists’ best qualities. It’s been a really long day. All I want to do for my birthday is meet Jerrod and Lee." She had patiently waiting in line from 1:30 p.m. in the afternoon to 11:30 p.m. that night.

Jerrod Neimann AF 234Fans can also catch Niemann on June 7 on SirusXM’s The Highway as he co-hosts the show with Storme Warren and performs songs from the forthcoming album, Free The Music.

Jerrod Neimann AF 006Niemann is currently out on the road with Miranda Lambert as  part of her “On Fire” tour and will be commencing his own fairs and  festivals tour later this fall. Fans can also expect to catch him June 7-10 for  festivities surrounding the 2012 CMA Music Festival in Nashville, Tenn. where he will perform on the Chevrolet Riverstage on Thursday, June 7 at 1:15 p.m.

Hope you are all having an awesome Wednesday… about time to settle down with a cold drink and a bowl of popcorn, and an awards show!
Back with more soon!
