Randy Houser (new)I wonder what Detroit in August is like? If a trip to the motor city were at all possible for me, I’d find out. Randy Houser is going to be part of the inaugural “Coach’s Kickoff” to be held at ford Field in Detroit on Sunday, Aug. 5. Randy is one of our country artists that I have literally been following since the first day of his career. And, I love the totally new look.Randy has changed his look a lot over the past four years. But one thing that hasn’t changed is his music– always loved that. I hope every country station out there is playing “How Country Feels,” because I think it’s great!  Here’s an interview I did with Randy back in 2008; and the audio from the interview done by one of my radio friends, Reggie Neel. Hope you’ll take a minute and listen to this one, Randy even talked about me!

I’m done rambling now … here’s the press release about the August event.

Randy, 2008About Randy Houser: Los Angeles Times wrote that Randy Houser adds “grit to the genre” with his 2008 debut album ANYTHING GOES, which positioned the Mississippi-born, soul-drenched country singer and songwriter to become one of the next big artists to emerge in the genre. “Anything Goes” catapulted into the Top 20 after an appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman and the follow-up hit single, “Boots On,” reached Top 5 on Billboard and Mediabase charts.  The album landed Houser nominations at the 2009 CMA Awards and the 2010 ACM and CMT Awards. Houser co-headlined his first tour with longtime pal Jamey Johnson on CMT ON TOUR ‘09 and completed his first USO tour overseas with Johnson and Kellie Pickler in January 2010 before joining Gary Allan on the GET OFF ON THE PAIN TOUR later that year. His sophomore album, THEY CALL ME CADILLAC, was released in September of 2010 and was met with praise from The Washington Post and The Boston Globe, among others, naming it a top release of the year.  After touring alongside Willie Nelson on the Country Throwdown Tour, Houser went back into the studio to work on his first album on Stoney Creek Records.  His latest radio single, “How Country Feels” hit radio airwaves in early May and has remained one of the most-added country singles at radio each week since its release. The single is the first release from his forthcoming album is slated for Fall/Winter 2012. For more information about Randy Houser, visit www.randyhouser.com.
