There are a lot of singers out there trying to find their place in the world of country music. One of those singers, hoping to get the attention of the right people, is Brittany Bexton. While Brittany may not be new to some of you, she’s new to me. A friend of mine told me about her, and of course I wanted to find out more.
I immediately went on line to seek out her web site, facebook page, and whatever else I could find about her. And, I found what I was looking for. She had music on line for us to listen to. The first thing I realized is that I was listening to country music. That’s something I am always hoping for when I find a new artist. Her music is not as ‘old’ country as I heard a few weeks ago when I introduced Tim Culpepper to all of you, but it is definitely country. It is not the kind of music that we often refer to as ‘country/pop’ or ‘country/rock.’ It’s just country.
The bio on her web site is short enough that I can share it in it’s entirety with all of you here. BUT, I hope after reading it, you will visit her site – listen to her music, and learn more about this very talented young lady.
Bio: Brittany Bexton came into this world with her vocal chords ringing, and they haven’t stopped since. At age two she picked up a microphone at a campout and sang for the campers. As she grew, her love of music deepened. She started writing music, and has studied singing with four master voice teachers, each of whom specialize in different styles. Fifteen years of singing later, her training is evident in her powerful, smooth, and consistent vocals.
It is not, however, her training that makes her stand out from other singer songwriters, but the passion and life she brings to the stage, and to a song. During her collegiate training at PCPA, a conservatory for musical theater, she studied not just singing, but acting and dance as well. Whether it be her acting training, or simply an intuitive heart for music and telling a story, the way she connects to the story and passion of a song captivates listeners and audience members, and draws them into her performance and the heart of her music every time.
Some of the things that impressed me as much as her music, were the awesome things the media is saying about her – listed on her web site under “News & Reviews”. She is a graduate of Pacific Conservatory, and apparently has done some acting as well as singing. Acting that the critics who reviewed it liked – a lot. So be sure to click n her ‘Biography” when you visit her web site, and drop down to the ‘News & Reviews’ listed below the bio.
Most of the shows on her schedule right now are in Texas, Tennessee and California. But I’m sure it won’t be long until she is doing a lot more shows in a lot more parts of the country. She has also done a couple of radio interviews, one of the back in August was a UStream interview with Renegade Radio Nashville.
In addition to her web site, you can follow her on Twitter @BrittanyBexton; and check out her facebook page, too. Her music is available on iTunes, and you can listen to it on her SoundCloud. Below is one of my favorites – Don’t Give Up.
As always, I’m anxious to hear what you think about Brittany’s music. Drop me an e-mail or leave me a comment.
Thanks to Lisa for pointing me in Brittany’s direction; and thanks Brittany for sharing your photos with us here at Country’s Chatter. Please keep us up-to-date with what’s happening in your career.
