If anyone had asked me who I thought was the richest person in country music, I probably would have started guessing people like Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift and Tim McGraw. But, Forbes Magazine has the answer. With Toby Keith on the cover of its current issue, Forbes said Toby’s total earnings are more than $500 million. In the past 12 months, his annual income was $65 million. [Source]
As good as Toby is on stage, and as much as fans love his music, he is not just about the music. Toby is also a businessman. He founded his own record label, Show Dog Nashville, which later became part of Show Dog Universal Music. He opened his I Love This Bar & Grill in Oklahoma City in 2005, and has added restaurants in Thackerville, Okla.; Auburn Hills, Mich.; Kansas City,; Las Vegas; Mesa, Ariz.; St. Louis Park, Minn.; Foxborough, Mass; Cincinnati, Ohio; Newport News, Va.; and Denver, Colo., with plans for more in the future.
He has a head for business and a heart for helping. Toby supports Ally’s House, a nonprofit organization in Oklahoma designed to help children with Cancer. “This is a special charity to me. I saw firsthand how a child’s cancer diagnosis can devastate a family. Please join me in supporting these kids through Ally’s House. We’re gonna make it better for the kids,” Toby said.
Toby is a huge supporter of our military, too, having made countless trips overseas to entertain our troops. With 20 number one records under his belt; 20 years in the music business; and new music hitting the radio all the time – Toby Keith remains one of my favorite country music artists.
