New Sony Music Nashville artist and Air National Guard Tech Sergeant Angie Johnson, who gained fame when a video of her singing on a military base in the Middle East went viral, has been announced as the opening act for the fall dates of Scotty McCreery’s successful Weekend RoadTrip Tour 2013. She will join the tour this Sunday, September 1, 2013 in Manteo, NC.
Prior to hitting the road, the St. Louis native, whose debut single, "Swagger," is impacting radio now, will sing the National Anthem at the Rams’ final pre-season game tonight, Thursday, August 29, 2013.
Angie, who has been busy visiting radio stations in support of "Swagger," was recently featured in Billboard and the 18 million-circulation USA Weekend. She was featured on ESPN as the Grand Marshal of NASCAR’s recent Cheez-It 355 Sprint Cup Race, where she sang the National Anthem and called out the four most famous words in racing: "Drivers, start your engines." "Swagger" has been the most added single by a new female artist for three consecutive weeks.
