RodneyPlatinum-selling country star Rodney Atkins was set to perform for the thousands of SEC football fans for the Second Annual SEC BeachFest in Gulf Shores, Ala. at a concert Saturday night when heavy rain rolled in off the Gulf.  Refusing to let the weather put a damper on the festivities, Atkins made the quick decision to scale down the show and move it nearby and indoors at The Hangout.  Performing on an improvised stage made out of restaurant tables, Atkins and his band rocked out with the fans who had braved the harsh conditions.

“We weren’t going to let the rain end the party early if we could help it,” shares Atkins.  “My band and I were there and ready to play; folks came out and were ready for a show, so I’m glad we were able to give them one.”

Rodney2The "Take A Back Road" singer is currently in the studio with plans to release new music this fall.
