Sony Nashville Recording Artist and Air National Guard Tech Sergeant Angie Johnson wowed America last night with her stirring performance of “God Bless America” in the 7th inning stretch of game four of the 2013 MLB World Series game.
Johnson, a native of St. Louis and avid Cardinals fan, was thrilled to be able to perform at the game and was equally honored to do it in uniform as evident from her Facebook post last night which read “That was such a rush!!! Love my ‘Cards’ & my hometown!!!,” Johnson posted.
Angie’s latest single, “Swagger,” a song she co-wrote is currently climbing the radio charts. The former “Voice” contestant received a warm message from her “Voice” family last night as they Tweeted their support of her musical performance at The World Series and shortly thereafter, Angie became a trending topic on Twitter.
Angie is currently on tour with Scotty McCreery and the two are having a healthy rivalry at the moment, because Angie is a BIG Cardinals fan and Scotty is an equally BIG Boston Red Sox fan! This combination should make for an interesting tour this weekend!
