Chris Young had a lot of things planned for this years CMA Fest. He had a great night on Thursday, celebrating with more than 500 of his fans at his annual fan club party. After that event, he went home to cook himself a late dinner. Unfortunately, while he was cooking, he cut his left hand. That injury was bad enough that he went to a local hospital where doctors assessed his injury.
We found out that he would be canceling his four-hour fan autograph session that was scheduled for Friday (yesterday) during CMA Festival. At the time he cancelled that event, Chris thought he was going to recover quickly enough to be a part of the show at LP Field tonight (Saturday). Unfortunately, that isn’t gong to happen.
In a press release received this morning, we learned that Chris had to undergo surgery to repair tendons in his left hand. That was some kitchen accident. The show tonight is one of the highlights of CMA Fest for tens of thousands of fans who will fill that stadium tonight. I’ve seen Chris in concert several times, and I am sure this is a huge disappointment for all of his fans.
Doctors say that following his recovery and rehabilitation, he is expected to make a complete recovery and return to playing guitar.
Chris’ latest single, “Who I Am With You,” from his recently released album A.M., is climbing the country radio charts as Young hits the road with Dierks Bentley on the RISER TOUR.
