Brinley and Collin 145It was Brinley Addington’s 2nd annual Hometown Throwdown in Kingsport, Tenn., on Saturday night. This is a fundraiser for the local Children’s Miracle Network. This was the second year for the event, organized by our own Brinley Addington, a Kingsport native and rising country star. When Brinley called on Collin Raye to help out with the charity event this year, Collin was quick to agree. I’ve always loved that our country artists have such generous hearts. Thank you, Collin, for being part of the event this year.

Brinley and Collin 154Everyone who listens to country music knows Collin Raye. We know his songs, we know about his life, we’ve followed his career and loved him for nearly a quarter of a century. What a treat for the people in Kingsport to have Collin on stage last night. I’ve seen him before, I knew what to expect. And, it is always nice to get exactly what you expect. His vocals are still outstanding. His music never gets old. The show could have gone on hours longer, and no one would have complained. He is still as good as he ever was.

Brinley and Collin 166While I’ve always been a big fan, and could sing his songs right along with him, I was really happy that he did some of the songs from his album “Still On the Line: The Songs of Glen Campbell”. This is a great tribute album. Hearing him perform some of those songs last night was an added treat for all of us.

Brinley and Collin 185There really isn’t a lot I can tell you about Collin Raye. So, I will share a few photos from the show last night with all of you. But let me add one thing – if you haven’t seen Collin Raye live lately, be sure to check out his web site, look at his show schedule, and get yourself out to see a man who definitely knows what makes country music country!

It was a great show. And a great fundraiser for our Children’s Miracle Network. Hope you will all visit Collin’s Facebook page, and remember to ‘Like’ it while you are there. You can also follow him on Twitter @CollinRaye. We would also love to have you follow Country’s Chatter, you will find us on Twitter @countryschatter.

That’s it for the weekend. But I’ll be back with more soon!
