Austin Webb opened our Washington County Fair, in Abingdon, Va., on Monday, Sept. 13. I didn’t get to that show. But, fortunately, I have friends who did.
One of those friends had an opportunity to see Austin’s artistic side. And, I don’t mean she got to see him as a country music ‘artist’. Everyone at the fair that night saw that. What I mean is, she got to see some of his art work!
I don’t think I got the whole story from Pam, but what Austin drew for her was a pig playing the piano. I still don’t know why. Maybe because there were a lot of pigs at this little country fair. Maybe just because Austin is good at drawing pigs. Who knows. All I know for sure is that lucky Pam Shipley now owns an Austin Webb Original!
We all know Austin for his hits, “Slip On By” and “Raise ‘Em Up” – He’s got some great music, and we are all ready for a full Austin Webb album! Very sorry I wasn’t at his show last week, but hope to be able to catch him sometime very soon.
This is Pam, the proud owner of the art by Austin. According to Pam and her daughters, I missed not only a great show, but a visit with a very nice person. I wonder if Austin does Kangaroos – those are my favorite ‘non-barnyard animal.’
In addition to Austin’s web site, be sure to visit his Facebook page, and remember to “Like” it while you are there. You can also follow him on Twitter @austinlwebb. If you aren’t already following Country’s Chatter on Twitter, we’d love to have you. You will find us @countryschatter.
I’ll be back with more soon. Hope you all had a great Tuesday!
