We may be a little late with this one, but while we are sharing videos, this one had to be among them. Even if you have already seen this, it’s worth a second look. At a concert in Minneapolis, Garth Brooks spotted a sign in the audience, it read “Chemo this morning, Garth tonight, Enjoying the Dance”. The sign was being held by Teresa Shaw, who is battling stage 3 breast cancer. Garth lost his Mom and a sister to cancer. The sign definitely struck a chord with the entertainer.
It was while Garth was singing The Dance that he spotted the sign. Teresa was holding. He sang to her, gave her his guitar, took the sign onto stage with him, and talked to the audience about this horrible disease. Teresa said The Dance was her favorite Garth Brooks song. That’s awesome. She’s one happy fan, and like Garth, we all join in wishing for her a full recovery from this disease.
I’ve been to a lot of concerts, where a lot of cute things happened on stage. Usually it involves the artist bring a very young fan up on stage with them. Sometimes the fan dances, sometimes they sing. It’s always cute. But, I have yet to be a part of an audience where I’m brought to tears by an act of kindness such as this. I hope some day I have that chance.
