At just 19 years of age, Mary Kate Farmer isn’t afraid to step out into the already crowded world of country singer/songwriter/musicians. She’s determined to make her mark in in the country music world. We all know that females seem to have a rough go in country-music land. We all know that being female isn’t going to make this an easy journey her. However, we also know that being a very talented female is definitely going to help.
A little info from her bio tells us that she has been ‘wowing audiences throughout the South with her skilled writing and energetic live shows.’ She was raised in San Antonio, Texas, but now calls Woodstock, Ga., her home. Mary Kate started singing when she was four years old, and performed for family and friends whenever she could. When she was 14, her parents bought her an acoustic guitar – that was the start of a new career for Mary Kate. A career that would take her out of her living room, and into festivals, fairs, and other venues where she could perform her original music for crowds.
She has played at many venues, fairs and festivals across the South and has opened for country artists such as Craig Campbell and John King. She recently completed her debut EP in Nashville Tennessee with two-time Grammy nominated producer Greg Cole. She has been a regular on 94.9 The Bulls Backyard country show in Atlanta where Cole Swindell, Luke Bryan, Sugarland and Billy Currington all got their start.
The press has been kind to Mary Kate, and understandably so.
