The Oak Ridge Boys have been my favorite country music group forever. Every time I get a press release about them, I am anxious to find out what it says, and in a hurry to share it with all of my readers. Today I received this release and I just can’t think of a better way to enjoy the holidays! We’ve already shared their Christmas Tour schedule with all of you, and now we have get to tell you where you might be able to catch them on television as we close in on Christmas this year. Here is the release, which includes a list of the stations (with dates and times), where the American Legion Christmas Special will be shown. I don’t know if that December 23 Christmas show in Nashville is sold out yet. but, if it isn’t, I would love to be in that audience. I think I have some checking to do.
‘Tis the season for giving, and the legendary group The Oak Ridge Boys are on a mission to give back to our nation’s servicemen and women. Tune in to watch them perform memorable hits and holiday-favorite tunes as they host “The American Legion Christmas Special,” which airs in multiple markets across the U.S. this December. The merry television event will help to raise awareness and funding for The American Legion, which is the nation’s largest wartime veterans organization committed to improving the lives and communities of veterans and service members.
Stand-out performances of songs like “Christmas Time’s A Comin’,” “Jingle Bells,” and “Christmas Cookies,” amidst a festive backdrop of snow-tipped evergreens and sparkling lights make “The American Legion Christmas Special” an event not to be missed as family and friends gather together this December. Special musical guests the Gatlin Brothers also appear, along with performers Mary Sarah and Martin Family Circus.
Long-time supporters of the military, The Oak Ridge Boys joined forces with The American Legion in 2014 to help raise awareness and support for better detection and treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder for veterans. Through this affiliation, they have also assisted with improving the VA benefits process, as well as education and career opportunities available for veterans once they return to civilian life.
In October 2015, the Grand Ole Opry members were inducted into the prestigious Country Music Hall of Fame — arguably the genre’s highest honor — for their iconic hits and ground-breaking contributions to country music. Throughout their 40-year career, their exceptional four-part harmonies, energetic stage performances and mega hits have garnered them over 41 million records sold including two double-platinum selling and three platinum selling albums. The Oak Ridge Boys perform more than 150 shows each year, ranging from giant state fairs to intimate venues, including symphony halls, auditoriums, festivals and arenas around the world.
Catch them on their annual holiday tour, the 2015 Christmas Night Out Tour, which began on Nov. 11 in Missouri and will wrap up on Dec. 23 in Nashville. For a full list of upcoming tour dates, please visit www.oakridgeboys.com.

There is the release, along with the television stations carrying what I know will be a great show. Hope you can find one in your area showing this. In addition to their web site, visit their Facebook page, and remember to “Like” it while you are there. They do a great job with social media, posting photos and news to share with their fans. If you’re like me, and just can’t get enough of their great music, head over to their YouTube, and watch a few of the videos there. Follow them on Twitter @oakridgeboys. If you aren’t already following Country’s Chatter on Twitter, we’d love to have you. You can find us @countryschatter.
