AshAshley Campbell is without a doubt one of my favorite up-and-coming female country artists.  We all fell in love with her debut single, “I’ll Do the Remembering.” The song tells a story that Ashley knows all too well. It recently came to our attention that some people weren’t aware that she is the daughter of  country music legend Glen Campbell, and she wrote the song about him. Everyone who has been listening to country music for the past half-century or so, knows that a great country song is a story put to music.  This one is definitely a great country song.

Ashley sang “I’ll do the Remembering” at the Grand Ole Opry back in April.  Before she sang, she dedicated the song to her Dad, and told the audience, “”I wrote this song for him because it describes the relationship between your father taking care of you and then you taking care of your father. This is for him.” [Source]

ashleyAshley sings, writes, plays banjo and guitar. She has that ‘clear as a bell’ quality to her voice, that makes listening to her sing a real joy. the bio on her web site tells us that during her Dad’s final days touring, she was right there with him – on stage, working as banjo player, keyboardist and harmony vocalist.  She’s been keeping busy, and her bio fills us in on what she has been doing with her career.By the time her father retired from touring in 2012, she was ready to make her introduction not only as a sideman, but as a solo artist in her own right. Dot Records, an imprint of the Big Machine Label Group, was ready, too, signing Ashley to a roster that also includes Maddie & Tae, Steven Tyler, Zac Brown Band, Drake White and Tucker Beathard. She is currently working on her debut album. All of the tracks — including “Remembering,” a poignant tribute to her Dad that doubled as the first single of her career — were either written or co-written by Ashley, who also played multiple instruments throughout the recording process.” [Source]

We are big fans of Ashley Campbell, and we know a lot of you are, too.  Here  is the video from her April Opry performance.  A great performance, a great song, and we believe a great career on the way for Ashley.
