A lot of folks in the Southeastern part of the U.S. are already familiar with Wild Wing Café. Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia have these great restaurants scattered throughout their states. Tennessee has a few, but none really close to this part of the state, and I had never been to one before. Now we have one practically in our back yard! The folks in the Tri-Cities area in Northeast Tennessee now have something new. While our readership is world-wide, this article really for the folks here in Northeast Tennessee, Western North Carolina, and Southwest Virginia.
Anyone who might be thinking that they can eat wings and watch big screen televisions at a dozen different places has never been to a Wild Wing Café. It does have wings. It does have big TVs. And, it even has live music. But, this restaurant has so much more. From the friendly group of employees, to the atmosphere in this building (which is totally unique from any other restaurant in the area), to the awesome food, with a wide selection on the menu – we quickly discovered that there is nothing not to like about a Wild Wing Café.
Wild Wing Café is not like other chain restaurants you may have visited across the country. You know the kind. You walk in and see photos of the same celebrities on the walls; or antique farm equipment and old cracker and flour tins being the main focus of the decorations, you know immediately where you are eating (regardless of the state you are in). Sarah Goodpaster, Marketing and Promotions Manager for Wild Wing Café in this area, tells us that is not the case with these restaurants. “Each Wild Wing Café is different, it has its own personality”, Sarah told us.
The restaurant opens for business on Monday morning (Dec. 19), but we were among hundreds of local town and county officials, members of the media, radio and television personalities, and other dignitaries, who were invited to be part of last night’s VIP Party. It didn’t take long for us to realize what Johnson City has with this new restaurant. It took even less time for us to know that we will be spending a lot of time there. Louis Trivette, General Manager at the new Johnson City location, worked as hard as his employees to make sure the special event went smoothly, while still taking the time to greet all of the guests and make sure everyone was enjoying the night.
This is not a restaurant with a buffet. It is a restaurant with a great menu, a lot of choices, and awesome food (regardless of what you choose). To give all of the guests last night a wide sampling of what the restaurant has to offer, the food was set out buffet style for us. It was hard to decide what to try first!
Mike Snodgrass provided the entertainment at last night’s event. he was the perfect example of what people can expect to hear when they go to this restaurant. Everyone knows that when I think music, I think ‘country’. And, Wild Wing Café has their share of that lined up in the coming weeks. Mike had everyone thoroughly entertained last night with great covers of songs from Michael Jackson, Bill Withers, and many other artists. But, he didn’t stop there. He also did a number of original songs for his audience, providing music for the entire event.
Currently living in Knoxville, Mike is originally from West Virginia. He is a singer/songwriter, who and is currently in the studio working on a new album. We had the pleasure of seeing Mike do an acoustic performance, (along with Brandon Shelley on drums), Mike will be back in January with his full band.
In addition to Mike’s website, visit his Facebook page, and remember to “Like” it while you are there. check out some of the videos on YouTube, and you can follow him on Twitter @MSnodgrassMusic. His music is available on iTunes, so head over and check that out as well. If you aren’t already following Country’s Chatter on Twitter, we’d love to have you. You will find us @countryschatter.
Northeast Tennessee, check out your new Wild Wing Café! And, have a great time! Keep an eye on their Facebook page, too, so you can keep up with what great artists will be on the stage in the near future. Andalyn in January, Matt Stillwell among the February artists. You won’t want to miss a posting on their Facebook page. And remember, regardless of who they have singing, the food is awesome. If you are into sports, there won’t be a game you can’t find on one of the big screen TVs (I counted more than 20). It’s a great restaurant, where everyone is going to have an awesome meal, and a great time.http://www.countryschatter.com/2016/12/mike-snodgrass-brings-his-music-to-vip-event-at-new-wild-wing-cafe/MiscellaneousNewsReviewAndalyn,Johnson City TN,Louis Trivette, matt stillwell,Mike Snodgreas,Wild Wing Cafe
