JD3Country’s Chatter readers may remember the name, J.D. Shelburne.  He first came to our attention back in October, 2015, when we actually met him through a Periscope broadcast.  If you didn’t see that article, or don’t remember what we had to say about J.D. and his music, we hope you will go back and have a look [you can do that by clicking here].

If you are at all familiar with J.D.’s music – songs like “Hometown,” “Farmboy,” “Small Town Star,” and others – then you are going to love what J.D. has for us now.  He has just released his brand new music video for his song, “Better Man”.  It’s a great video, for a great song. Like most country music fans, I’ve always believed that one very important part of our music is the story it tells.  And, J.D. is as good at telling stories as he is at singing songs.

jd“Better Man” was co-written by J.D. and Mark Nesler.  Mark also wrote “Just to See You Smile,” recorded by Tim MCcGraw; “For You, I Will,” which is my personal favorite Aaron Tippin song; and Keith Urban’s “You Look Good in My Shirt”.  “Better Man” starts with lyrics that tell you two things: (1) it’s a love song; and, (2) it’s going somewhere.  “Yeah, Baby, we been talking about it, for quite some time now, tired of dancin’ around it. Everything I feel now, I think you know it, don’t just want to say it, I want to show it….”  Now, if you want to hear the rest of the story…. we have the video below.

This is nothing but a great country song.  I’ve listened to it a dozen times already. Each time I listen, I hear something that makes me like it more.  It’s lyrics, it’s music, it’s JD’s vocals … this is one of those songs that doesn’t have anything you aren’t going to like.

jd1J.D.’s continuously-growing resume’ is impressive – having opened for artists like Montgomery Gentry, Craig Morgan, Johnny Lee, John Michael Montgomery, Easton Corbin, Steve Wariner, Joey & Rory, Craig Campbell and Confederate Railroad (to name just a few),  He has a lengthy show schedule posted on his website, and we think the open dates he has are going to fill up fast as more people hear his music. Watch the video, and let us know what you think!

In addition to J.D.’s website, visit his Facebook page, and remember to “Like” it while you are there. When you want to see more of J.D., check out his YouTube Channel, and follow him on Instagram, too. You can follow him on Twitter, too, @JDSHELBURNE.
