Are you ready for some great food, great fun, great fireworks, and some awesome entertainment!  It’s just about time for the annual Pepsi Independence Day Fireworks Celebration at Freedom Hall in Johnson City, Tenn.  Over the past 30 years, we’ve had the best of everything at this spectacular event. This year is sure to be another fun event for the folks in Northeast Tennessee, Southwest Virginia and Western North Carolina.

There are always a lot of great door prizes handed out during the day, with nonstop entertainment, food vendors and so much more!   Here is your entertainment for this year’s event.

ClareDunnClare Dunn will be our headliner this year.  A lot of you probably remember Clare from her hit, “Move On”. But, many of us in the Northeast Tennessee area fondly remember Clare from her 2014 show at our Appalachian Fair in Gray, Tenn., when she opened for Parmalee.  If any of you don’t know a lot about Clare, and would like to go back and read that article, you can do so by clicking here.

JimboWhaleyIf you’ve been to this July 4 celebration before, you know about Jimbo Whaley.  Along with his band, Jimbo Whaley & Greenbrier, have been on stage at this event many times. Always bringing the best in bluegrass to the Freedom Hall outdoor stage.

AustinMoodyWe’ve had Austin Moody at this event before, and we’re excited about having him back!  This Nashville recording artist is from our area, and, we always look for great things from him.  We’ve been fortunate to have Austin at many local events, and fundraising events for various organizations.

AshleyTraglerLast, but certainly not least, we have Ashley Tragler taking the stage.  Ashley is an up-and-coming artist, and her music ranges from contemporary Christian and hymns, to classic country and bluegrass.  She’s a great entertainer, and never fails to give her audience a great show.

fireworksIn addition to the entertainment and door prizes, you will see some of the best Fireworks anywhere!  And, one lucky attendee is going to go home in a 2017 Chevy Sonic (sponsored by Champion Chevrolet of Johnson City).  Other sponsors for this great event include Pepsi, Food City, Tri-Cities ABC, News Channel 11, WXBQ Radio, Freedom Hall, City of Johnson City, Johnson City Press, Bristol Motor Speedway, Dixie Stampede, Smoky Mountain Adventures, Hearth Side Cabin Rentals at the Smokies, Courtyard marriott Johnson City, Foster Signs, Precision Electric, and Lamar.

Keep an eye on the Pepsi Fireworks website, for all the info you will need.  Between now and the time of the event, you will find information here about parking, directions from  neighboring towns, and of course the schedule of events throughout the day.  There is always a lot to look forward to, with visiting dignitaries, military tributes, and of course the entertainment.

We will be there!  And, to our local folks – we hope to see you there, too!
