Bucky Covington carIt was recently announced that there will be seven new inductees to the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame for 2017.  One of our all-time favorite American Idol alumni is among those listed for this honor.  Bucky Covington may not have had a lot of music played on country radio lately, but he still fills venues all across the country, with his very local still-growing group of fans.

BCHere is the list of those receiving induction into the Hall of Fame:
Anthony Hamilton – Grammy Award winning R&B singer, songrwriter and record producer from Charlotte.
Bucky Covington– Country music singer and American Idol contestant from Rockingham
Etta Baker– Legendary piedmont blues guitarist and singer from Morganton
Jim Lauderale– Country, bluegrass and Americana singer/songwriter from Troutman
Richard Lewis Spencer– Renown saxophone player and member of The Impressions & Winston’s from Wadesboro
The Sensational Nightingales, Durham – A traditional gospel quartet that reached its peak of popularity in the 1950’s.
Steep Canyon Rangers– Grammy Award winning bluegrass band from Brevard

The Induction Ceremony will Oct.19 at the Kannapolis Performing Arts Center at 415 E. First St. The red carpet event is open to the public and tickets are on sale now. VIP and General Admission tickets may be purchased at the NC Music Hall of Fame Museum or online at 2017Induction.eventbrite.com
