They started with a goal of $40,0000 – $20,000 donated by the members of the group Home Free, and another $20,000 they hoped would be would be donated by their fans.  With the help of their loving and generous fans (The Home Free Home Fries), they quickly reached that goal!  The members of Home Free now raised their goal to $100,000.  I don’t think they will have a problem making the new goal.  And, we are sure a lot of our readers will want to help.

Money they are raising will be going to the Southeast Texas Food Bank and the Nederland Church of Christ Disaster Relief Fund.  These two organizations will be responsible for distributing the funds where they are needed most. You can get all of the information on the YouCaring page, and we hope you will share that page on your Facebook and Twitter.  Send your friends an e-mail, too, directing them to the page.  We want to give everyone an opportunity to send what they can to help our friends in Texas.

Home Free has also recorded “God Bless Texas (A Song for Hurricane Relief), which you can watch this great video on YouTube by clicking here.  The video includes scenes of the flooding and damage in Texas, along with rescues by boat, and the endless work of volunteers.  And, of course a great song from our Home Free guys! All proceeds from the sales and streams of this song will go to benefit disaster relief.  You can download on itunes, Amazon, Google Play, and stream on Spotify and Apple Music.
