Platinum singer/songwriter Rodney Atkins visited Nashville’s W.O. Smith School, whose mission is to make affordable, quality music instruction available to children from low-income families, today, Sept. 14 to donate the money raised from his annual “Music City Gives Back” concert. W.O. Smith’s Development Coordinator Chrysa Kovach, Program Coordinator Jordan Morrison, Executive Director Jonah Rabinowitz and Assistant Director Lynn Adelman welcomed Rodney to receive the $20,000 check.
The 6x No. 1-singer’s “Music City Gives Back” concert brings Nashville’s country stars in town for the CMA Festival together to raise money to help the community every year. This year, Atkins’ seventh annual MCGB, held on June 6 ,was headlined by “More Girls Like You” Singer Kip Moore and brought together country artists Brett Young, Granger Smith, Cole Taylor and duo Walker McGuire to play the official Nashville hockey tailgate ahead of the Stanley Cup Finals game and to kick off the week full of CMA Festival events all while raising money for a good cause. Nashville’s Carl Black Chevrolet, Wrangler, Ally and Rocky Ridge Trucks sponsored the event.
W.O. Smith will use 100% of the donation to further music education for in-need families in the community.http://www.countryschatter.com/2017/09/rodney-atkins-and-music-city-gives-back-donate-20000-to-w-o-smith-music-school/Charity EventPress ReleaseBecky Gardenhire,Chrysa Kovach,Greg Hill,Jim Ed Norman,Jonah Rabinowitz,Jordan Morrison,Josh Hunter,lynn adelman,Melony Wilson,Rodney Atkins,W.O.
