Three Star Mall and 105.3 WOW Country radio sponsored the inaugural Ultimate Man Expo Sept. 29-30, in McMinnville, Tenn. The event was a fundraiser for the Warren County Food Bank.
The weekend was packed full of events which included Cornhole Tournament, Barbecue Contest, Car & Motorcycle Show, “Crank It Up” Competition, Craft Beer, Blood Assurance Drive, Swap meet, and live music from some of our best up-and-coming country artists. They didn’t leave out that great festival food, which included kettle korn, cotton candy, hot dogs, and of course, barbecue. Kelly and Duke, from 105.3 WOW Country’s morning show, were on hand all weekend to assist in giving out awards and taking on the role of emcee for the shows.
Smith & Wesley have been a favorite here at Country’s Chatter for quite a while now, and we were so excited to be a part of their audience this weekend. They certainly didn’t let us down. Often when we see an artist for the first time, we can cross them off our list as ‘something we have now done’. But, with Smith & Wesley, we will just be moving them from the ‘artists we want to see’ column, over to the group called ‘artists we want to see again’.
The name Smith & Wesley may still be new to some of you, but that is definitely a name you are going to want to remember. We have had many articles posted about this duo, most recently telling you about their new single, “Superman (For A Day)“, and the video shoot for that song (you can check that out by clicking here).
Smith & Wesley are a fun-to-watch duo, who obviously enjoy what they are doing. They are talented, creative, full of energy, and as comfortable on stage as all of us are sitting in our living room. And, they bring us the kind of country music we’ve been missing lately. Take a minute and check out the biography on their website. You will learn so much about brothers, Todd and Scott, including the fact that they are both self-taught musicians/songwriters. That you would have to read, because you certainly wouldn’t know it by listening to them!
The entertainment didn’t stop with Smith & Wesley. We also had our first opportunity to see Cody McCarver on stage. We’ve had a number of articles posted about Cody, too. Take a look at this article we did, which includes Cody’s video for “I’m America”. We will get an article posted about Cody soon. Lew Card and Carrie Hassler were also among the the artists performing at this year’s event. (You’ll read more about them in the next few days as well).
In addition to Smith & Wesley’s website, visit their Facebook page, and remember to ‘Like” it while you are there. They have several other social media links listed on their website, so be sure to have a look at those as well. And, you can follow them on Twitter @SmithandWesley. If you aren’t already following Country’s Chatter on Twitter, we’d love to have you. You will find us @countryschatter.
Going to close this out with a few more photos from the show, and from the Ultimate Man Expo in McMinnville. This was a fun event, and I’m sure everyone is looking forward to doing it again next year.
