REba

Did everyone get to watch the 53rd annual ACM Awards on CBS this evening.  Reba did a great job hosting the show, for the 17th time. Did you have a favorite performance? When you have artists like Luke Bryan, Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum, Reba, Thomas Rhett (to name a few) sharing a stage…it might be very difficult to pick one favorite performance.  Perhaps a favorite outfit on one of your favorite artists? Any real surprises for you among the winners this year?   If you did miss any of the announcements, here is your list of winners.

Lauren Alaina, New Female Vocalist of the Year; Brett Young, New Male Vocalist of the Year; and Midland, New Duo/Group of the Year, all found out on March 26 that they were winners in those categories this year.  On April 13. Rhett Akins received word that he was the Songwriter of the Year at the ACM’s “Stories, Songs and Stars” event.  Among the many hits Rhett penned are Blake Shelton’s “Honey Bee”, Rodney Atkins “Farmer’s Daughter,” Jon Pardi’s “Dirt on My Boots,” “Mind Reader” for Dustin Lynch, and many, many others.

That was a great show.  Now it’s behind us for another year. Were yousurprised with any of the results?  I think my biggest surprise was Old Dominion capturing the ACM for Vocal Group of the Year.  this was a great group of nominees, and I think a hard one to predict.  But, Old Dominion definitely deserved to win.  I hope your favorites took home some of those awards tonight.
