“I love Outlaw Country, and I love ‘The Buddy and Jim Show,’” says Lee Roy Parnell.  “It was a joy to catch up and reminisce with my old friends.”

Midnight Believer was included on All Music’s “Best Blues Albums of 2017” list, along with Keb’ Mo’, Taj Mahal, Robert Cray, Gary Clark, Jr., David “Honeyboy” Edwards, and more. Vintage Guitar noted in a review that “Too Far Gone,” a song from Midnight Believer features a “gorgeous, melodic solo that is warm enough to melt ice” and called the album “one of the most pleasant surprises from 2017’s record releases.”

Musically, Parnell presents some of the best performances of his career on Midnight Believer. He approached this release with the intention of letting the music and performances speak. There is a level of organically-delivered emotion through his playing that took the path of not over-producing every track.
