CJ Solar had a dream come true over the weekend, when he opened for Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Last of the Street Survivors Farewell Tour in Raleigh and Charlotte.

Friday’s show included 38 Special and Cheap Trick, and Saturday’s featured 38 Special and Hank Williams, Jr.

In addition to the Skynyrd dates, last week for CJ kicked off by seeing his name atop the Country Music charts as the co-writer of Morgan Wallen’s #1 single “Up Down.” Solar also released “American Girls,” the second single from his Get Away With It EP, to Country radio.

CJAbout CJ Solar: Born and raised in Baton Rouge, CJ was heavily influenced by Cajun music of the region, along with Southern Rock and Country. He signed to Sea Gayle Music shortly after graduating from Belmont University and has had cuts by Jerrod Niemann, Justin Moore and Texas artists Mike Ryan and Kyle Park. He scored his first #1 as a writer, when Park’s “What the Heaven” single topped the Texas Music chart.

His critically-acclaimed Hard One To Turn Down EP, which The Shotgun Seat called “the perfect pairing of country storytelling and rocking rhythms, married by his dynamic vocals,” led to him being named one of their “17 to Watch in 17.” When his new Get Away With It EP was released, top country entertainment outlet Taste of Country named CJ as one of their “5 Country Artists to Watch in May 2018.” Rolling Stone Country also named one of their “New Artists You Need To Know.”
