KC_SongsForTheSaints_FINALIn celebration of the release of Songs for the Saints, Kenny Chesney is taking the story of the record straight to the fans with a live “Town Hall” on SiriusXM Friday, July 27 at 8 pm ET. With set-up for his show at Chicago’s Soldiers Field underway, Chesney will join The Highway’s Storme Warren to discuss the album’s inspiration, the devastation of the U.S. and British Virgin Islands, the forming of the Love for Love City Fund – and its role in rebuilding the Saints, album guests Ziggy Marley, Mindy Smith and Jimmy Buffett, as well as play as much music as they can fit.

“No Shoes Radio is the mojo wire for No Shoes Nation,” says the 8-time Entertainer of the Year, “and I wanted to share this record with them before anyone else. So much has gone into getting to this day and getting the music that happened in the moments of Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Maria. I wanted to share this record with the people who stepped up and helped us with the Love for Love City Fund, who’ve made – and continue to make such a difference. So what better place to do that than No Shoes Radio? And it’s great that SiriusXM is simulcasting it on The Highway as well.”

All proceeds from Songs for the Saints will go to Chesney’s Love for Love City Foundation, which has funded rescue and rebuilding projects across the U.S. and British Virgin Islands. Healing and offering hope is a big reason for the project, as well as showing the world the spirit of the people who call those islands their home.

With the what-we-have-in-common-being-greater-than-our-differences “Get Along” sitting at No. 1 for a second week, the man The Los Angeles Times calls “The People’s Superstar” is ready to release – and talk about — this deeply personal album. More acoustic, featuring five songs from Chesney’s own pen, the project looks to the future with hope, passion and resilience.

“The people of the islands faced unthinkable destruction, but somehow just kept going,” Chesney says. “This album is to let them know we see them, and we’re here to help. Every album someone buys, that money goes straight to the Love for Love City Fund, which has so far provided generators, tools, medical supplies, food and water, transporting things to the island and taking people off, raw materials for building and even instruments for the St John School for the Arts. The people who live there deserve to know they’re remembered – and these two SiriusXM Specials are a great way to share the love and bring people inside the process of making Songs for the Saints.”
