RMSelf-Penned Song Honors Roy Orbison’s Musical Influence

After charting more than 30 top 40 hits on Billboard Country Music Charts, entertainer Ronnie McDowell continues to write and record, sounding better than ever. McDowell is set for a new release on Debut Records this week, titled “Hurtin'”. The single will be the first song for fans off of his upcoming EP, “The Studio Chronicles.” “Hurtin'” is currently available for download or airplay.

“Hurtin'” is a new song written by Ronnie McDowell with his friend and business partner, Steve Geppi. Although, the song does have a throwback feel to the sound of of the legendary Roy Orbison who was a great influence on McDowell. The recording even features tribute artist Roy Inlow of Roy and The Orbits on a cameo appearance as the singers tones cry out the ‘Hurtin'” of a heartbreak.

The upcoming EP will also include the original rock and roll song, “Rocket 88” and another original, “Bring Back Rock and Roll.” Both of these recordings include once-in-a-lifetime collaborations with Bill Medley (The Righteous Brothers) and Billy Swan (“I Can Help”). The latter song, “Bring Back Rock and Roll,” has an accompanying music video that is currently airing worldwide on Country Classic. Ronnie McDowell is hosting the popular show over the next three weeks. The video is also on Ronnie McDowell’s music channel on You Tube.
