Tracy\If you are anything like me, you don’t think October is too early to start thinking about Christmas.  I might be the only one who has already started addressing Christmas cards, and find myself totally immersed in Christmas shopping; but then,  I love Christmas.   Today, I was fortunate enough to surround myself with some sounds of the season, from a real country favorite of ours, Tracy Lawrence.

His new holiday album, which officially releases on Oct. 12, is called “Frozen in Time”. They picked the right title for this album!  It’s a great combination of big band sound on the instrumentals, along with Tracy’s always recognizable vocals. The album gives you a a few new songs mixed in with the holiday standards,  and offers you everything you need for enjoyable holiday listening.

This is the kind of album you will want to play for your holiday parties, and just whenever you want some Christmas music in your house or office.  It may only be the first of October, but I am so excited about this album.  It is that something new, that sounds like something old, that I just can’t wait to share with friends and family.

“Frozen In Time” Track Listing:
1)  Frozen In Time
2)  Something In The Air
3)  White Christmas
4)  Winter Wonderland
5)  The Christmas Song
6)  Please Come Home For Christmas
7)  Cold Beer
8)  Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow
9)  Here Comes Santa Claus
10) Frosty The Snowman
11) Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas
12) All Wrapped Up In Christmas

The songs “Frozen In Time” and “Something In The Air” were new to me.  And, they became instant favorites.  “Frozen In Time” does mention things like Christmas cards, mistletoe and Santa, and other things that distinctly make it a Christmas song. But the song itself could really be an any time of year song.  “Something In the Air,” has lyrics that are as much about the mood of the holiday, as they are the holiday itself.  These two are the perfect start to what ends up being a 12-song album that is great from start to finish.

If you are the kind of person who waits all year to hear the familiar, no worries…Tracy has that for you, too.  “White Christmas,” “Winter Wonderland,” and “The Christmas Song,” are in there, too.  And, you can’t have a holiday album without “ave Yourself A Merry Little Christmas”.

Another song on the album that was new to me was “Cold Beer”.  I looked at that title, and wondered if it really fit in with the rest of the songs on this holiday album. It didn’t take me too long to realize that it does..  I usually find a ‘cute song’ on ever Christmas album. For me, this was that cute song.  Tracy definitely didn’t use up all the ‘cuteness’ on”Cold Beer”.  He has one of those smile-from-the-first-note-to-the-last songs on there, too.  that one is called “All Wrapped Up In Christmas”.
