The Kingsport, Tenn., Racks By The Tracks festival will be held on May 17 and 18.  As always, the two-day festival will be filled with fun events for the entire family. There will also be a beer tasting with more than 80 beers and 20 wines.   Country legend Aaron Tippin will present a free concert on Friday night, May 17.

This is the 12th year for the festival, which will include This fund-raiser has generated more than $100,000 for area non-profit organizations over the last 10 years. Twenty-five BBQ competitors will be on hand, along with five additional food vendors.

The two-day event will include the SPF 10K and 5K Race/Walk, which had more than 650 runners last year. The event, held at the Kingsport Farmer’s Market, will also have area for the kids, and is a family-friendly festival.  The Kingsport Merry-Go-Round will also be operating during this year’s event.

In addition to Aaron Tippin’s free Friday night concert, music for the weekend includes four bands on Saturday.  They are:  The Breakfast Club – 80’s Tribute Band; The Ultimate Garth Brooks Tribute; Jake Quillen – blues; and Doctor Ocular – Psychedelic Rock.  These musical performances will begin at noon on Saturday and run until 10 p.m.

 

Some of the organizations benefitting from this Festival include the Sullivan County  Humane Society, Relay For Life (American Cancer Society), Skin Cancer Foundation, Second Harvest of Northeast Tennessee (Feeding America), Kingsport Chamber of commerce, Downtown Kingsport Association,Girls Incorporated of Kingsport, PEAK Young Professionals, Kingsport Ballet, Boys and Girls Club, and Sunrise Rotary Club.
