Long before Miranda Lambert became the most honored artist in ACM history, she and her mother, Bev Lambert, were rescuing animals – a tradition that shows no sign of slowing down. Between the two of them, they share their homes with 15 shelter pets. In 2009, the animal-loving mother and daughter team decided to make things official and co-founded MuttNation Foundation, a 501c3 nonprofit with a mission to promote the adoption of shelter animals, assist with animal transport and help during times of natural disaster. MuttNation is proudly celebrating its 10th Anniversary.

When it comes to advocating for the adoption of shelter pets, Miranda is a passionate and tireless campaigner. “Music and rescue animals are the two driving forces in my life and I’m so fortunate that the success I’ve had with my music allows me to help shelter animals more than I dreamed possible,” the country superstar said, adding “MuttNation’s 10-year milestone is amazing and what we’ve been able to accomplish gets better every year. Just in this past year, alone, we helped 1,776 shelter pets find their forever homes.”

mn secondOne of MuttNation’s most popular signature programs, Mutts Across America, was created by Bev Lambert in 2015. Mutts Across America awards 50 “surprise” grants to 50 shelters, providing an outstanding and carefully vetted shelter in every state with a MuttNation grant. Since the initiative’s inception, Mutts Across America has supported 250 shelters with more than $750,000.

MuttNation is celebrating its 10th Anniversary throughout the year and sends heartfelt thanks to all our MuttNation Citizens and supporters for making these first 10 years so successful. Find us on Facebook (facebook.com/muttnation), Instagram (@muttnation), and Twitter (@MuttNation).
